My religious studies teacher recently told our class that ‘Sikhism’ is an amalgamation of the larger, more dominant religions of India and when I corrected her, she showed me an article on our student portal, which states:
“Roots of the movement he founded were primarily in the Hindu cult of devotion to Vishnu, though the practices of the Muslim mystics called Sufis may have had some influence.”
